Between the Prague quarters of Pisnice and Libus is the large Vietnamese TTTM Sapa marketplace, also known as ’little Hanoi’. The marketplace offers groceries (including the normally unavailable, Asia-imported kinds), spices, clothes, shoes, toys, house decorations and many other kinds of goods and it also features various fast food stalls and restaurants with mainly Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine.
The TTTM Sapa market place focuses mainly on wholesale but can be accessed by anyone. It is no coincidence that the market place is frequented by the Far-East-cuisine lovers since it it is run by the members of the Vietnamese community of Prague and so you can taste here many specialities which you would search for in vain elsewhere in Prague.
We recommend to taste the local ’pho’, which is traditional a Vietnamese broth with rice noodles, red onions, spring onions, chicken or beef and is served as the main course. As a dessert you can taste fried sweet balls made from rice dough with sweet bean paste filling. Even if Asian cuisine is not your scene, you might still be intrigued by the width of the reasonably-priced sortiment offered at the market place.
