Rudolf Burda, a blacksmith and glassmaker from Mladá Boleslav, loves the combination of metal and hand-blown and cast glass. He specializes in artistic blacksmith work and free work, in which he uses materials such as steel, stainless steel, cast and hand-blown glass and enamel. His original products that excel in precise processing and bear the Burda Art Studio brand, can be bought at Prague’s DOX shop, Modernista, Kubista, GATEGallery art shop, the Kampa Museum and at other places.
The original artwork by Rudolf Burda processed by using the most modern and yet traditional technologies, excels in pure forms and minimalist design. The artwork reflects the aesthetics of Cubism, Functionalism and Constructivism, all of which inspires Rudolph Burda. An endless source of inspiration to him is also the natural countryside surrounding his studio.
Besides producing original works Rudolf Burda also makes historical copies of interior and exterior works and is engaged in restoration. For example, he participated in the refurbishment of the old cubist chandeliers, metal heating covers and fencing around the Bauer Villa in Libodřice, which was designed by Czech architect Josef Gočár.
