The Prague-based Aha! Theater (Divadlo Aha!) is one of few theaters to focus exclusively on children and high-school students, and on introducing them to Czech and foreign works of art which are part of their curriculum.
The permanent stage of the Aha! Theater is in Divadlo GONG in Vysočany, but the troupe also performs at other Prague theaters, such as Strašnické Divadlo, Divadlo U Hasičů, Novodvorská Cultural Center, and others. It regularly gives guest performances in various towns all over the Czech Republic and every year it performs some 200 performances for children and teenagers. Besides morning and afternoon performances, the ensemble also plays on the weekends with its Fairy Tale Saturdays and Sundays. From its foundation in 1999, the Aha! Theater has staged 49 original theater plays of various genres including drama, art, music and movement theater, marionette shows and poetry.
The Aha! Theater stages mainly plays with a strong story and quality script with a focus on original form. Members of the ensemble, as well as the theater's partners, are mainly young artists and those who are freshly-graduated from art school.
